Packed-bed gas absorber

Corrosive gas treatment

Capture hazardous process gases before they reach the vent.

Wet scrubbers transfer soluble contaminants from a gas stream into a liquid absorbent. They control emissions from chlorination, bromination, acid reactions, liquid–gas processing and storage-tank vents. UD Technologies designs packed-bed and falling-film absorbers around gas flow, composition, temperature, impurities and recovery target. The two technologies can also be installed in series where bulk removal and cooled high-concentration absorption are both required.

Broad gas service

HCl, chlorine, SO₂, HBr, bromine, ammonia and mixed vents.

Two absorber types

Packed-bed and falling-film configurations.

Single or staged

Combine technologies for the required removal duty.

Engineered from gas data

Flow, composition, temperature and impurities drive design.

Salient features

Match mass transfer and heat removal to the gas stream.

Materials, utilities, controls and equipment arrangement are selected around the feed and required product.

Counter-current packed contact

Packing creates interfacial area between rising gas and descending liquid.

Cooled film absorption

Falling-film tubes remove absorption heat at its source.

Mixed-gas capability

Systems can address combinations of acid gas, halogen and organics.

Process vent control

Treat reactor exits, tank vents and liquid–gas process exhausts.

Recovery potential

Absorbed gas may form a reusable acid product.

Series arrangements

Use falling-film and packed stages together when appropriate.

Process configuration

Compare packed-bed and falling-film absorption.

Final capacity, materials and instrumentation are confirmed against the process data and site utilities.
