Glass Liquid Extraction systems
UD Technologies are Leading manufacturers of Glass Liquid Extraction systems from Vadodara,Gujarat,India. We offer different Glass Liquid Extraction systems such as Mixer Settler,Continuous packed Bed Extraction system,Rotating Disc Extraction column,Pulsed Extraction column.
Liquid-liquid extraction is a complex separation process in which the valuable components are extracted from the feed stream with the help of an extractant, or solvent. The components to be extracted have a different solubility in the two immiscible, or partially miscible, liquids. Both liquids have to be thoroughly contacted and subsequently separated. The liquids flow counter-currently and the required purity and yield determines the number of separation stagesMany Binary Mixtures has Relative volatility nears to unity so it is very difficult to separate by distillation In Api industries in final product Heat exposure leads to degradation and leads to value loss .In such cases Extraction is Favorite tool for Separation of Binary Mixture.
Extraction is therefore a preliminary stage prior to subsequent separation by distillation.
A large interphase in the extraction apparatus for substance exchange is necessary to ensure that the valuable substance can dissolve from phase A to B.
Glass units provide beside their universal inertness the great benefit to observe the mixing and separation process in Glass Liquid Extraction systems enabling their easy optimization.
UD Technologies Offers different Glass Liquid Extraction systems
1 . Mixer Settler
Mixer-settlers, both as stand-alone and as in-column type, are offered for special applications. Due to the pump-mix turbine no additional feed pumps are required in most cases.
These are a Class of mineral process equipment used in Extraction Processes.
Industrial Mixer- Settlers are commonly used in the Copper, Nickel, Uranium, and cobalt Hydro – Metallurgy Industries where Solvent Extraction Processes or Liquid – Liquid Extraction Processes are applied.
Mixer-Settler consists of a first stage that mixes the phases together followed by a non-active settling stage that allows the phases to separate and a gravity separator where the liquids are separately removed as Heavy Phase and Light Phase.
For continuous operation, mixing and settling zones are spatially separated from each other. This can be achieved by connecting a series of several such mixing & settling chambers through which the phases are fed in counter – current flow, the system can be designed as per the requirements of a particular problem.
The Critical factor in the design of the horizontal mixer- settler is the coalescence to come together to form a mass or whole) rate of the dispersed phases.
2. Continuous Packed Bed Liquid Liquid Extraction
The key benefit of a packed column is the high throughput which leads to small column diameters. Together with specially adapted liquid distributors, our structured packing provides the best extraction performance
3. Agitated Extraction Column
In applications with high mass transfer and/or changing physical properties, this is the column of choice. The compartment geometry can be adapted to compensate for changing conditions resulting in a constant high column performance. The main features are the special mixing turbines and the perforated partition plates.
All Items can be coupled with Computers for Control and Data Acquisition through SCADA.

Glass Rotating Disc Extractors
The Rotating Disc extractor is a continuous, counter-current, liquid-liquid extractor, used for extraction of product or impurities from aqueous or organic streams by extraction with suitable organic solvent or water. The technique with its excellent repeated mixing and settling feature at each stage creates an extraction capability that is equivalent of several washings in a batch kettle. Solvent consumption can be reduced almost to 50% and power consumption to 70% than the batch operation. Simple and non-laborious operation with use of simple automation makes it possible to get consistent results.Used for extraction of product or impurity from bulk drug reaction mass, impurity removal from agrochemical product streams, extraction of product from mass stream in plant extract stream, biochemicals, recovery of product or toxic component from waste water stream
Agitated Extraction is Practically Universally Suitable for all type of Liquid Liuid Extraction.Limiting Condition is minimum density difference 0.05 Kg/M3 between both phases and a not to form Stong tendancy to form stable emulsion in order to allow a smooth agitation

The main features are the special mixing turbines and the perforated partition plates.
Advantages:
1. Adaption of Compartment and Agitator Geometry to the specific Product and Operating Condition
2. The Optimal Droplet Size can be adjusted ed by varying Agitation Speed
3. Insensitive to Solids

Exclusively testing columns DN100 and DN150 Column length is variable, can be freely modified by assembling the column sections with 10 agitated compartments each.
Since pilot tests always require large quantities of product, it is often preferable to do the testing at the customer’s site, where the required product quantities are available, and even more importantly, where the produced extract and raffinate streams can be recycled or treated in some way.
We provide test columns DN150 or complete units with pumps, flow meters, interface control, agitator speed control, etc to our customer
