Working Principle of Rotary Evaporator
Industrial Rotary Vacuum Evaporator is essential equipment in Concentration of Heat Sensitive products by Gentle Evaporation. Rotary Evaporator is generally known also as Rotavapor-Rotovap-Rotavap
Heat sensitive material decomposes at higher temperature and prolonged exposure to Heat transfer surface .Rotary Evaporation saves against both reasons
- Vacuum lower down boiling point .This enables concnetration of Heat sensitive products at lower temperature .As a result,this saves decomose-degradation of heat sensitive materials .Please refer Rotary Evaporatoration Solvent Pressure chart which shows boiling point at different vacuum
- Rota motion forms Film over flask surface .
- As a result contact time with Hot surfaces reduces remarkably .This effectively offers gentle evaporation
- Due centrifugal force produced due to rotary motion, Liquid film sticks to total surface of evaporating flask .As a result liquid exposes to larger surface area and faster vapor formation .
- Solvent vapors reaches to condenser and get condensed .Due to faster solvent removal and lower boiling point ,Feed concentrates gently
Salient Features
Industrial Rotary Evaporators are larger versions of laboratory Rotary Evaporator.
Special care is needed to design and manufacture as Evaporating flask is huge to handle and consists of more valuable feed. A special arrangement is designed to remove Evaporating Flask. Vacuum tightness is comparable to International standards. Wetted parts are only Borosilicate glass and PTFE to ensure no black particles or rubber.
Rota motion increases vapor formation and concentrates materials. Rotary Evaporator is generally known also as Rotavapor.
